Two former Indian cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Sreesanth clashed during a live match in Legends League cricket. On Wednesday, Gujarat Giants and India Capitals faced each other in an eliminator match of this league in Surat. Gambhir is the captain of Capitals while Sreesanth is the bowler of Gujarat. During this match, Gambhir and Sreesanth got into a verbal fight. Not only this, but after the match, Sreesanth posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) targeting Gambhir and making big revelations. Sreesanth says he was so enraged by Gambhir’s alleged misbehavior that he had to post the video.
What exactly led to the fight?
During this match, Gujarat captain Parthiv Patel won the toss and decided to bowl first. Kirk Edwards and Gambhir opened for India Capitals. Capitals captain Gambhir hit a few boundaries off Sreesanth’s bowling in a 30-ball 51. After this, Sreesanth is seen in the video looking at Gambhir in frustration and uttering some words. In response to this, Gambhir made a restraining gesture at the fast bowler. This controversy did not stop here. A fan posted a video on social media recorded from the stands as the Capitals batsman was ejected. During that break, Gambhir and Sreesanth had another argument.
Both Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth’s aggressive attitude continues even after retirement. The duo clashed with each other during a Legends League cricket match in Surat, Gujarat. The video of this argument is going viral.

Gambhir hit seven fours and one six in his innings. He was the highest run scorer for his team. Capitals scored 223 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Gujarat team could only score 211 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. After the match, when the Capitals beat the Giants to secure a place in Qualifier 2, Sreesanth posted a video on his Instagram page, in which he targeted Gambhir and made some accusations.
Sreesanth made big allegations against Gambhir
In this video, Sreesanth is heard saying – I wanted to clarify something about what happened with Mr. Fighter. Mr. Fighter fights with all his teammates for no reason. He does not respect his senior players including Veeru Bhai (Virendra Sehwag) and many players. That’s exactly what happened. He would keep saying something to me without me saying anything which was very rude. Gautam Gambhir should not have said that.’
Sreesanth said he and his family were hurt by Gambhir’s words. The former fast bowler said, ‘There is nothing wrong with me. The words he used and the things he said on the cricket field are not acceptable. I have been through a lot with my family. With your support I have fought that battle alone. Now some people want to insult me for no reason. Gambhir mentioned things on the field that he was not expected to say.
Virat’s name was mentioned
Sreesanth added, ‘What’s the point of representing the team or the people if you don’t have the respect of your teammates. Whenever he is asked about Virat (Kohli) in any interview, he never talks, says something else. I don’t want to go into too much detail. All I have to say is that I am very hurt. My family is hurt. I did not use bad words. Gambhir did not respond to Sreesanth’s comments. Gambhir and Sreesanth were part of the T20 World Cup-winning Indian team in 2012 and the 2011 ODI World Cup.
